RECALL NOTICE

Recall of Select Coby Electronics Batteries for Portable DVD/CD/MP3 Player Model No. TF-DVD8501 ("R"Us Item # 043689)
Coby Electronics Corp., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has initiated a voluntary recall of certain battery packs for a portable DVD/CD/MP3 Player, Coby Model No. TF-DVD8501. The batteries can overheat, posing the risk of fire.

Battery serial numbers involved in the recall all begin with the designation "HY."

DVD Player units containing the recalled batteries were sold from January 2007 through September 2009.

Consumers should check the battery serial number printed on a white sticker on the outside of the battery pack, which is located on the bottom of the DVD player unit. If a consumer has a battery with a serial number beginning with "HY," they should: (i) stop using the player immediately; (ii) remove the battery pack from the player; and (iii) contact the firm for information on returning the affected battery and receiving a replacement.

Consumers should call the toll-free customer service number below between 8 AM and 5 PM Eastern time, Monday-Friday, or visit the firm's website at www.cobyusa.com, for information regarding the recall. Do not return the product to the place of purchase.
